Chorus: He is risen He is risen And He lives forevermore He
is risen He is risen Come on and celebrate Come on and
celebrate Come on and celebrate The resurrection of the Lord
Runnin' thru the back streets With little promise of sunrise Her
heart's completely broken Tears were streamin' from her eyes So in
doubt as she reached the tomb Because the stone's been rolled
away She covered her mouth in complete surprise As she heard the
angels say
Repeat Chorus (with stepouts)
Celebrate (the Lord)
Peter and John were racing to the tomb to verify (verify the
news) Their whole world already shattered They've got nothin' else
to lose (no, nothin' to lose) John was the first to arrive on the
scene Then Peter came a-dancin' in (they found an empty tomb) The
only thing left was a pile of grave clothes (He arose) Where Jesus
Christ had been He is risen
He is risen (He lives forevermore, yes my Lord's alive) He is risen
(I'm gonna shout it from the valley to the mountain top) And He lives
forevermore (Oh have I reason to celebrate, I've gotta live because it's
Jesus who cures my faith) He is risen (He lives forevermore, yes my
Lord's alive) He is risen (I wanna shout it from the valley to the
mountain top) Come on and celebrate Come on and celebrate Come on
and celebrate Come on and celebrate Celebrate

"So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy,
and ran to tell his disciples. Suddenly Jesus met them. 'Greetings,'
he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him."
Matthew 28:8-9

can be born again (Hallelujah)
The angels up on the tombstone (hallelujah) Said He is risen just as

risen Hallelujah He's
risen Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah
(Swahili Outro)
Scriptural Reference:
"He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place
where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen
from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see
him.' Now I have told you." Matthew 28:6-7 "He has risen! He is
not here. See the place where they laid him. But go, tell his disciples
and Peter, 'He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him,
just as he told you.'" Mark 16:6-7
Rise again (you can't keep me in the ground), rise again
Go ahead and drive those nails in my hands Laugh at me where you
stand Go ahead and say, say it isn't Me The day will come when you
will see
Chorus 1: 'Cause I'll rise (rise) again There's no pow'r on earth
can tie me down Yes I'll rise (rise) again (again) Death can't keep
me in the ground Death can't keep me in the ground
Go ahead and mock my holy Name My love for you is still the
same Go ahead, bury me 'Cause very soon I will be free
Chorus 2: 'Cause I'll rise (rise) again (rise) There's no pow'r
on earth can tie me down Yes I'll rise (rise) again (again) Death
can't keep me in the ground 'Cause I'll rise again (rise
again) Death can't keep me in the ground (rise again) Yes I'll rise
(rise again)
Go ahead and say I'm dead and gone You will see that you were
wrong Go ahead and try to hide the Son (All will see) All will see,
see that I'm the One
Repeat Chorus 2
Death can't keep me in the ground (rise again)
Scriptural Reference:
"He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place
where he lay." Matthew 28:6
Do you believe There's much more to this life Than
what we see? Does the world need more hope beyond the grave? Can
we depend on A god to lead our way To say
Chorus: If Jesus (if Jesus) had not risen
(Jesus) There'd be no need (there'd be no need) To keep on livin'
(keep on livin') 'Cause the future ('cause the future) Of this world
(the future of this world) Would be so cold So dark and cold (so
dark and cold) If Jesus (Jesus) had not risen (Jesus) There'd be no
love No reason to forgive (no reason forgive) But thank God Our
hope in Him Does not depend on "If"
Should the parents Take time to raise the children? (take
the time, take the time, take the time) Why should God care For
people anyway? Is there a reason for anyone (anyone) to pray?
Hear me when I say... Repeat Chorus
By the power of love he arose from the grave By the
spirit of God He continues to save And His people are known by a
natural display of His love
All our sins are forgiven Our hope is secure There's a
reason to live now forevermore He is love He is alive I'm alive
(Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus)
Spoken: Every baby born, every tree that buds, every seed
that sprouts is proof of our need for resurrection. Had not the Spirit of
Yahweh stirred within the cold body of our crucified Lord, there'd be no
certainty that the spirit of life could conquer the death in our own
hearts, or in our broken, dying world. But the warmth of God's Spirit did
move, and Jesus walked out of the tomb, victor over decay! Because He
lives, we are certain that His life in us will conquer our own dying
spirit. The living Lord replaces despair with hope, and gives us courage
where there was fear. He gives us the certainty it takes to train our
children and the love it takes to conquer hatred, pessimism, and distrust.
Jesus lives. And life wins. Did ya hear me? Life wins!
Scriptural Reference:
"He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised
to life for our justification." Romans 4:25
Chorus: Roll that stone away, roll that stone away Lord God,
Almighty gonna roll that stone away You promised you'd rise on the
third day Lord God, Almighty gonna roll that stone away
Jesus was a man free from sin we know And He taught us that we reap
the very things we sow He taught us parables of life we see today On
that third day
Repeat Chorus
They mocked Him and they scourged Him, said His words were lies But
Jesus had compassion with pity in His eyes And I can't wait to see what
He has to say On that third day
Repeat Chorus
Interlude (Roll it, gonna roll that stone away, oh gonna roll it)
Rap: Oh, you gotta roll it, the tomb it couldn't hold Him Hey,
third day--no time to play I've got an empty grave as my
testimony That the promises of God sho ain't phony He's legit, He's
livin', and He's comin' back To take us home, now what about
that? It's one, two, three--what a glorious day When the Lord God,
Almighty rolled the stone away
He's coming back, that's one thing for sure He's looking for the
blameless, the righteous, and the pure I can't wait to see what He has
to say (see what He has to say) On the third day
Repeat Chorus (x2)
Interlude (Roll it, gonna roll that stone away, oh gonna roll it, roll
it away)
When the Lord God Almighty rolled the stone away
Scriptural Reference:
"On the third day, he will rise again." Luke 18:33 "and they asked
each other, 'Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?'
But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very
large, had been rolled away." Mark 16:3-4
The gates and doors were barred The windows fastened down Spent
the night in sleeplessness And rose at ev'ry sound Half in hopeless
sorrow Half in fear of the day To find the soldiers breaking thru
To drag us all away
Just before the sunrise I heard something at the wall The gates
began to rattle A voice began to call I hurried to the window To
look down to the street Expecting swords and torches And the sound
of soldiers' feet.
No one there but Mary And so I went down to let her in John stood
there beside me As she told us where she'd been She said they've
moved Him in the night And none of us knows where The stone's been
rolled away And His body isn't there
We both ran toward the garden And then John ran ahead We found
the stone and the empty tomb Just the way that Mary'd said But the
winding sheet they wrapped Him in was just an empty shell And how and
why they'd taken Him Was more than I could tell
Something strange had happened there Just what I didn't know John
believed in a miracle I just turned to go Circumstance and
speculation couldn't lift me very high 'Cause I had seen Him
crucified Then I watched Him die
Back inside the house again The guilt and anguish came Everything
I'd promised Him Just added to my shame When at last it came a
choice I denied I knew His name But even if He was alive It
wouldn't be the same
Suddenly the air was filled with a strange and sweet perfume Light
that came from ev'rywhere took shadows from the room Jesus stood before
me with His arms open wide And I fell down upon my knees and just clung
to Him and cried
He raised me to my feet as I looked into His eyes Love was shining
out from Him like sunlight from the skies (sunlight from the
skies) Guilt and my confusion disappeared in sweet release (sweet
release) Every fear that I'd ever had just melted into peace
Chorus: He's alive! (He's alive!) He's alive! (He's
alive!) He's alive and I'm forgiven Heaven's gates are open wide
Repeat Chorus (x4 with variations and fade out)
Scriptural Reference:
"So Peter and the other disciple started for the tomb. Both were
running, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first.
He bent over and looked in at the strips of linen lying there but
did not go in. Then Simon Peter, who was behind him, arrived and
went into the tomb. He saw the strips of linen lying there, as well as the
burial cloth that had been around Jesus' head. The cloth was folded up by
itself, separate from the linen. Finally the other disciple, who had
reached the tomb first, also went inside. He saw and believed. (They
still did not understand from Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the
dead.)" John 20:3-9
Christ the Lord is risen today (hallelujah,
hallelujah) Hallelujah! Sons of men and angels say (hallelujah,
hallelujah) Hallelujah! Raise your joys in triumphs high
(hallelujah, hallelujah) Hallelujah! Sing ye heavens, thou earth
reply (hallelujah, hallelujah) Hallelujah!
Love's redeeming work is done Hallelujah Fought the fight, the
battle won Hallelujah Lo! Our Sun's eclipse is
o'er Hallelujah Lo! He sets in blood no more Hallelujah
Repeat Chorus
Vain the stone, the watch, the seal
(hallelujah) Hallelujah Christ hath burst the gates of hell
(hallelujah) Hallelujah Death in vain forbids Him
rise Hallelujah Christ hath opened paradise
(hallelujah) Hallelujah (hallelujah, hallejuah)
Lives again our glorious king Hallelujah, hallelujah Where, o
death, is your sting? Hallelujah, hallelujah Once he died our souls
to save Hallelujah Where's your vict'ry, boasting
grave? Hallelujah (hallelujah, hallelujah) Christ the Lord is risen
today!
Scriptural Reference:
"Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of
rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting: 'Hallelujah! For
our Lord God Almighty reigns.'" Revelation 19:6
There's a step that we all Take alone An appointment we
have With the great unknown Like a vapor, this life is waiting to
pass Like the flowers that fade Like the withering grass But life
seems so long And death so complete And the grave an impossible
portion to cheat But there's One who has been there, still lives to
tell There is One Who has been through both Heaven and Hell And the
grave will come up empty-handed that day Jesus will come and steal us
away
Chorus: Where is the sting, tell me where is the bite? When the
grave robber comes like a thief in the night Where is the victory?
Where is the prize? When the grave robber comes and death finally dies
When the grave robber comes (9-fold)
Many still mourn Many still weep For those whom they love Who
have fallen asleep But we have this hope Though our hearts may still
ache Just one shout from above And they all will awake And in the
reunion of joy will we sing Death will be swallowed in sweet victory
Repeat Chorus
When the last enemy is gone Out of the dust will come a
song Those asleep will be awakened Not a one will be forsaken He
shall wipe away all tears He will steal away our fears There will be
no sad tomorrow There will be no pain or sorrow
Repeat Chorus (x2)
Where is the sting, tell me where is the bite? When the grave robber
comes like a thief in the night Where is the victory? (fade)
Scriptural Reference:
"'Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?'
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus
Christ." 1 Corinthians 15:55-57
Spoken: On a dark cold day, Jesus died on Calvary on a
cross - nailed by his hands and feet. Buried in the tomb, never to rise.
But little did they know he would rise again. Jesus lives.
Low, low in the grave He lay Jesus my Savior Waiting
the coming day Jesus my Lord
Oh, and vainly, vainly they watched His bed The bed of my
Jesus And vainly, vainly they sealed the dead Jesus my Lord
Death cannot keep its prey Jesus my Savior He tore the
bars away Jesus my Lord
Up from the grave Yes, He arose Hey hey hey hey
hey My Jesus lives
He arose, yes He arose, yes He arose (up from the grave He,
up from the grave He arose) He lives forever (up from the grave He, up
from the grave He arose)
Chorus: Up from the grave He, He arose (He arose) With
a mighty triumph o'er His foes (He arose) He arose a victor from the
dark domain And He lives forever with His saints to reign He arose
(He arose) He arose (He arose) Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Christ arose!
Repeat Verses 1-3 (with energy)
Repeat Chorus
He arose (He arose) He arose (He arose) Hallelujah
(x7) He arose!
Scriptural Reference:
"And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a
public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross."
Colossians 2:15
Not a word was heard At the tomb that day Just the shuffle of
soldiers' feet As they guarded the grave One day, two days Three
days had passed Could it be that Jesus Breathed His last?
Could it be that the Father Had forsaken Him? Turned His back on
His Son Despising our sin? All Hell seemed to whisper "Just
forget it - He's dead!" Then the Father looked down To His Son and
said...
Chorus: Arise My Love! Arise My Love! The grave no longer has
a hold on You! No more Death's sting No more
suffering Arise Arise My Love
The earth trembled And the tomb began to shake And like lightning
from Heaven The stone was rolled away And as dead men, the
guards Stood there in fright As the power of Love Displayed its
might
Then suddenly a melody Filled the air Riding wings of wind It
was ev'rywhere The words all Creation Had been longing to
hear The sweet sound of vict'ry So loud and clear
Repeat Chorus (with echo)
Sin, where are your shackles? Death, where is your sting? Hell
has been defeated The grave could not hold the King
Repeat Chorus (with echo)
Scriptural Reference:
"The next day, the one after Preparation Day, the chief priests and the
Pharisees went to Pilate. 'Sir,' they said, 'we remember that while he was
still alive that deceiver said, 'After three days I will rise again.''"
Matthew 27:62-63 "'Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O
death, is your sting?' The sting of death is sin, and the power of
sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory
through our Lord Jesus Christ." 1 Corinthians 15:55-57
